Uhm.. have you seen September?

Wow!  I’ve lost a month, but I am still here, still engaged in pattern design (will have LOTS to talk about in that department), still getting some great interviews to share with you (hoping that my computer didn’t eat Lady Wyvern’s piece, or at least that she’s still got a copy!), and looking forward to sitting down at the mic again very very soon!

I’d like to thank everyone who has been sending me comments, emails or messages on Ravelry to let me know that you’ve been missing the show.. it really means a lot to me!

Now, I must dash to my job at the yarn shop.. such torture, unpacking all the new yarns for Fall.. *sigh*  :)

Talk to you soon!

Summer ate my podcast.

Sorry folks, I just got blown away by work and play and things inbetween, and the mid-Aug show didn’t materialize.

When I get back, I’ll be working on the mid-September show, back to the regular monthly schedule at that point, and I’ve got a great interview with Lady Wyvern to share with you!  It will be awesome!

Right now, I’m off to Burning Man.  If you’re going, and you see a tall curvy gal with a ‘X’ tattoo on her belly and a reddish-orange hand-spun, hand-knit bicycle seat cozy (assuming it doesn’t chaff horribly, but I’m halfway to guessing it will come off in the first couple of days…)… come say hello!

If you have no idea what Burning Man is, visit http://burningman.com and check out the Images gallery and any video links you can.  Stunning, stunning, stunning.

Summer Vacation has struck!

Actually, summer is turning out to be incredibly busy for me, and I could use a bit more precious personal time, so I have decided to aim for Episode Eight to come out at the end of July, and then Episode Nine will come out in the middle of September and I’ll return to producing monthly shows at that point.

Thanks to everyone who has left a comment, sent me an email, or added a show link to their blog!  More answers to the Ultimate Questions are needed for E.8 and E.9, so keep those coming!

Teaser:  I’ve just started hand dyeing yarn and roving/fibre, so there’s a fairly good chance that on an upcoming episode I’ll be talking about designing with unique yarns!

Look for the story of How My Microwave Became Bright Yellow And Is No Longer Foodsafe on Jacey’s soon-to-resume podcast, Insubordiknit.

Delay for Episode Six

I’ve gotten through the editing of Rabbitch’s interview (which is awesome!).. but a close friend is dealing with some sad news, so I’m not going to finish today or tomorrow.. possibly by Friday, and I’ll let you know if it will be later than that.

Be well, and tell your loved ones that you love them.

Design Class Notes:

Three Bags Full is the shop where I am teaching the Design a Sweater class based on this, The Knitter’s Handy Book of Sweater Patterns by Ann Budd.

The new show is up, but the notes are delayed…

I’m getting to them tonight, should be available by tomorrow morning!

(or, it now being tomorrow, later tonight? And thanks to Lisa for reminding me that not everyone is an iTunes user.. sorry for the delay in posting the download link!)

Click here to download Christa Knits: Episode Four.

Corrected version is now up, so that link should take you to the version that does NOT have a two-minute gap in the middle (thanks Ruth!)..

I tried, really I did.

I sat down at about 9pm tonight, to put together all the clips I’ve been recording and collecting over the last month, so I could get Episode Four done and up and out to all of you….

.. and the machine just wasn’t going to let me do it.  Oh, it LOOKED like everything was going well.. until the point at which I dared to save a backup copy, just in case, before I did a final run through of the whole show.

POof!  Or, rather… that RrrrRrrrRRRRRrrrrr sound you might get when you try to start a car and it just won’t catch.  Even now, after 3 hours of babying and restarting and tinkering, and 2 hours of leaving it alone to stew, my computer is still making grinding sounds and has FOUR task manager windows open.  Is that even possible??

So, it is 4am, on the 16th, and the show is now a day late.  I’ll do my best to get it to cooperate before I have to leave for work in twelve hours, but if you don’t see a new episode until after the weekend, you’ll know why…

Sorry about the rant, thanks for reading!  Talk to you soon…

(on the good side, during all that grinding-waiting-for-the-machine-to-do-something tonight, I got a lot of spindle time in!  New yarn, woo!)
