Hat Patterns

Heartbeat

Hats were my introduction to knitting: an article in Vogue Magazine in the early 90s had me cranking out top-down hats during my college classes, using double-sharpened pencil crayons as my DPNs. Explorations in colour and texture stitches started on these hats, and those early adventures in design have served me well.

I continue to be passionate about designing and knitting hats - What can I do to tweak the shape? Make it with earflaps but all knit in one piece? Work in a bit of gorgeous lace that will look better when it is on the head, not just on a blocking plate? - and they continue to be my go-to projects for easy portability.

Clicking on the hat links to the left will take you to that pattern’s page to purchase, or find information on sizing, yarn recommendations, and the needles and notions used in the pattern along with FAQs, errata, and links to the project on Ravelry. I hope you enjoy my hat designs!
